Now a days people have started travelling just to taste & explore food in either of the restaurants or some roadside carts. Food trend is in such a demand that people spend half of the days eating outside experimenting things. Thanks to fellow bloggers who make it easier for everyone by visiting places, taste food and suggesting dishes which you should eat when you visit any place. People have started socialising a lot now a days after their work to mellow down the pressure they handle at work. Vashi and near by areas have bloomed a lot in terms of population, people, trends, variety and options. And to their luck a new outlet, BARWORKS has opened its doors in Airoli which offers you a huge place to socialise, alcohol to tap your feet and good food to cherish. Cost for 2 here is 2000Rs. Banana & Caramel Shake
Shake at a Bar? Yes you read it right, I was craving for a shake and hence placed an order for Banana & caramel shake which is no doubt a classical combination. The shake was thick, flavours used were prominent and was served chilled. A perfect start to my meal at Barworks, Airoli.
Nutella and Hazelnut Frappe
A drink suggested to me by @guiltlessfoodies made me die for it. I loved it so much that I already placed an another order even before finishing it. Nutella was used as the base and hazelnut provied with the nutty flavour. Chunks of caramelized Hazelnut along with the drink would take it to a completely different level.
I have always been a maniac when it comes to coffee. This drink had a strong flavour of coffee along with the punch of vodka and a little sweetness by sugar. You can inform the server to lower down the flavour of coffee if you are not used to the strong flavour.
Kheema pao served in the form of Sandwich. A street food that makes your mouth water even if you hear the name & this dish lived up to the same expectation when tasted. The kheema was finely minced making it melt in mouth & was served along with french fries and onion rings. I feel Portion size can be increased to 3 instead of 2 which would do enough justice to the cost.
Bhuna Seekh Roll – Chicken
You can miss this, wasn’t happy with the flavour profile of the dish. I somehow feel the magic of spices was somewhere missing and could be more interesting if topped up with couple of more toppings.
The Shroom Melt – Burger
Fluffy toasted burger buns stuffed with burger Patty made up of sauteed mushrooms loaded with cheese and topped with slices of onion, tomato & lettuce. As soon as you bite through, the cream cheese will coat your taste buds with the earthy flavour of mushrooms. It’s served along with crispy french fries and Cajun mayonnaise, it’s completely a heaven for all mushroom lovers.
Homemade Jalapenos Cheese Popper
Most of the restaurants now a days use ready made food products to reduce manpower and time, but some of the restaurants are against it and one of them is “Barworks“. Here is a perfect example, home made Jalapeno Poppers served along with spicy mayonnaise. Jalapeno poppers were crisp from outside and gooey from inside, a perfect snack to be served along with alcoholic drinks.
Crispy Onion Rings
I loved the way they have served this dish, a simple looking dish presented in eye catcher way. Onions marinated with herbs and spices, later diped in seasoned batter & coated with bread crumbs. As soon as you bite through, the crunch took it to different level.
Soya Chilli Sausages
Star dish of the day, a stir fry made using sausages and vegetables. It had a dominating flavour of garlic, chilli & soya sauce. I could feel a hint of smoky flavour which added to it’s beauty. A simple dish with combination of flavours which were bang on and did justice to each other. “Must try I shall say”
Misal Fondue with Crisp Pao
The name sounded interesting, but didn’t amuse me so much as its name. It was like any other misal that you get at average places. A good misal needs to be spicy, moist and and topped up with farsan. I feel using misal as a fondue is a bad experiment because the flavour of cheese dies of due to the spices used.
Panko Crusted fried Prawns
A similar version of Fish and Chips, instead of fish Prawns were used. Crispy , crunchy & flavourful crumb fried Prawns served along with tartare sauce.
Burmese Khow Suey
khaosuey @barworks18 a classical soup from the land of #Burma was served along with 6 accompaniments . Slurrpy and so flavourful, its one of the best I had till date.
Huge selection of desserts was placed on our table ranging from classical to modern. The best being classical Creme caramel, a perfectly baked custard topped up with a thin layer of caramel. Simplicity at it’s best.
The next one was Oreo cheese cake which was seemed little higher on salt. An unusual taste which could put your taste buds off. It was followed by a chocolate pastry which took us to completely different level, a sponge cake layered with chocolate ganache. It was heavy, delicious and mouth watering. A perfect finish to the meal, chocolate always works out for me.
Next was mango cheese cake, it had a prominent flavour of mango which was a good signal. The short crust base provided the crunch, cream cheese provided the texture and mango provided the required flavour that we could cherish. I feel use of fresh mangoes would make it even better.
