Had a long day at work and wanted to rejuvenate myself with some good food at some good place which had positive vibes. And to my luck I was invited by British Brewing Company to review their Lower Parel outlet which turned out to be the place I was looking for. This outlet is located inside Palladium Mall and is 2 floored. Its very spacious and seems to be the biggest outlet amongst the 3 of its kind in Mumbai. It has some amazing music collection which kept my feet tapping all along till my last bite. The ambiance is a little rustic and they have made use of chairs which resemble old time, walls are filled with photo frames that have golden lining. It has a big Centric bar which dispenses the quality and quantity drinks to the entire outlet. A perfect place to have party with your gang. The cost for 2 here is 1500₹
They have many options for all people starting from tit bits to kebabs to sandwich to wraps to curries to desserts.
Chicken Bruschetta (184₹)
The Bruschetta had a nice crunchy toasted bread slice rubbed with olive oil and garlic , this ensured that the bread did not get soggy when it was topped up with some mixture. The mixture was little spicy on the palate which made it even more interesting for me, the mixture was made up of shredded chicken, tomato, spicy red chilli pepper, basil and pepper. Finally the bruschetta was loaded with cheese and flashed under salamander, just to melt the cheese and give it a little brown colour so that natural caramelization takes place which gives a far more better flavour profile to the dish.
Mumbai Potatoes (200₹)
As the name suggest its a potato preparation influenced by the cuisine of Mumbaikars. Deep fried potato wedges tossed in dry masala made up of slices onions, garlic and spices. The crunch of the wedges was perfectly accompanied with the spicy masala which made it a perfect combo to have with drinks. But seasoning could have been little better, salt was missing.
Corn on the cob (90₹)
Simplest dish on the menu which will make you lick your fingers. It’s the same bhutta that you get near juhu or on small street carts. The whole corn is being boiled in milk to make the corn kernels little tender, then it is charred on charcoal to give a little smoky flavour. It was served along with laccha onion, lemon wedges and a mixture of chaat masala and chilli powder. Instead of serving it on side the Corn could have been marinated with the mixture after being charred.
Chicken cigar Rolls (300₹)
Highlight of the day was this golden fried bread crumbed chicken cigar roll. By looking at the dish it would look like an ordinary spring roll, I had the thought about it. But when I cut through for my first bite cheese oozed out along with chicken which was perfectly seasoned and spiced. I would surely order this again on my next visit to this place.
Butterfly Prawns (368₹)
Get me some more, get me some more” That’s what I would say after every bite of this dish. Batter fried prawns tossed in spicy, tangy and little sweet sauce along with vegetables. The dish had an extra touch of garlic and chillies
Spaghetti in Pesto sauce with Chicken (400₹).
This dish was good, same like you get at any other place. Spaghetti tossed in pesto cream sauce served along with crusty garlic bread.Basil Pesto was fresh and full of flavour. You can miss this if you want to try something new.
South-West Chicken Wrap (263₹)
I was full and couldn’t hog on to this, but I did manage to taste the stuffing which was made up of roasted chicken, chipotle salsa and cheese which was rolled into bed of lettuce and tortillas sheets . It was served along with tomato salsa and nachos.
Nasty BBC Burger (400₹)
It was biggest Nasty Burger that I ever had. It was sandwiched with triple layer of Chicken Patty, Lamb Patty and Fried egg along with lettuce, tomato, onion and spicy mayonnaise which added and extra effect to the foodgasm of this burger. It was served along with potato wedges and spicy mayonnaise dip. If you are a Burger maniac then this is the right place and that is the right burger you need to order.
This drink was quite refreshing for me , it had a dominating flavour of cranberry along with a hint of lemon and dash of sugar. Simple but acted as a good palate cleanser in between the feast.
The place was noisy and was beating with some beautiful music, but this didn’t affect the concentration of people working there. They were on their toes to help and place order. They constantly kept pouring water as soon as it was less than half, that’s a sign of quality service and staff. Unfortunately I don’t recollect the name of the server, but would like to say few word about his. He was very sweet & had proper knowledge about the food you had.
